Outfit: Dragonfly Print Top, Tweed Jacket and Metallic Brogues

Today is my friend Sally's 50th birthday. We met at the school gate almost 10 years ago and although we were always been good friends, we have become closer than ever over the last year. Along with her husband John, she has been a constant source of support, advice and tea. With the occasional cake and glass of Prosecco thrown in.

Since her last birthday she has got married (20 years and three children later, she decided to say yes to John)...


... and four months after the wedding celebrated with a surprise hen party that Annemarie and I had gleefully planned.


She is having a party on Saturday which we are all incredibly excited about, but today, Annemarie and I called in to see her before her family arrived for lunch.

It was another beautiful mild sunny morning so once again I only needed a blazer. In honour of the sunshine, I wore my ankle-skimmers- only a slight change from my ubiquitous skinny jeans but one which I feel is moving in the direction of spring.
My Ted Baker top is around 5 years old and is adorned with dragonflies. The ruffled neckline is so pretty.





And it is the third year I have been wearing these soft leather metallic brogues.







Happy Birthday Sally. Thank you for being the best friend a girl could wish for.

I can't wait until Saturday...
