Both of my children are now back at school following their Easter holiday, so it's business as usual. I started off with a meeting about fifteen miles from here in the pretty little market town of Settle, North Yorkshire. I met with the three members of a local flooring business about whom I'm writing a feature for the June issue of Aspire Magazine. It's been several months since I went to Settle and Tuesday is market day and it was bustling and vibrant and nice to have a short wander around afterwards.

The afternoon was taken up writing the feature along with the usual washing and housework and a little more DIY and rearranging. I've been doing various small jobs- putting up shelves, hooks and photographs since getting my drill on Saturday and every time I do something new, I feel a greater sense of home and an even greater sense of achievement. There is a certain freedom afforded by the white-walled blank canvas of this new-build and I love it.
I haven't worn this cropped jacket for a while. The fact that it's navy broderie made it a must-have buy two summers ago. I'd forgotten how much I like it so will be making the most of it during spring.

And speaking of home, how beautiful is this narcissus? It was a housewarming gift way back in November. I planted the bulbs and left them in the garage over winter. This little bloom smells divine and it makes such a difference to the corner of the dining area in which it sits.
