Another windy day here in Woolacombe, North Devon, but thankfully, the torrential rain that I wrote about yesterday was no more.
We knew the wind was to become stronger during the middle of the day, so thought it wise to go to Woolacombe beach in the morning so avoiding the worst of the weather later on.
Once again layers, (including a jumper), were in order.
For a second consecutive day, we went to The Beachcomber Cafe...
...but today braved sitting outside on the terrace so we could take in the beach and breathe in the sea air. To describe it as bracing would be something of an understatement.
Later this afternoon, we drove to Croyde, a pretty town full of thatched cottages. It lies just a few miles away.
I booked a table for supper at The Kings Arms in Georgeham upon the recommendation of one of my daughter's friends who holidayed in Woolacombe last week, so I took the opportunity to get changed before we went. Georgeham lies between Croyde and Woolacombe on a very narrow country road.
I couldn't resist the yellow flowers in Georgeham village car park.
I had ham, egg and chips and a rather nice Verdejo which the lovely young lady behind the bar recommended and allowed me to taste before ordering.
It is a truly fabulous pub.

*My pull-on trainers were a sale purchase from the teenage Johnnie B rannge at Boden. It's worth noting they run large to size. It is rare for me to need a size other than a 41 (UK 7), but they were too big so I exchanged them for a size 40.
**The cream and red bag was the prize I received from Bonprix for winning the bikini style challenge that I took part in recently.
