Winser London is a quality British brand for women who want great clothing that works for more than just one season. That philosophy is something I believe in wholeheartedly. I like versatile pieces that are suitable for a variety of occasions and that transcend the seasons. I want my clothing to multi-task and to work hard just like I and millions of other women do.
Coco Chanel told us that fashion fades and only style remains the same and this tweed knitted jacket is testament to that. Kim Winser has taken the classic round neck "Chanel-style" jacket and interpreted the design for today's woman, modernising it with a cotton stretch fabric and a grosgrain placket. The colour is divine and the neat silhouette with popper fastening makes it look chic and streamlined.
I wore it when my daughter and I were invited for afternoon tea. The tea-shop is very close to the canal basin in the centre of Skipton so we made the most of the early evening sunshine to take these photographs.
Broderie anglaise is a fabric I love and is something else that endures season after season, decade after decade. In fact, it was so-named by the French, (English embroidery), because of its popularity here in the 19th century. This elegant sleeveless top has a jersey back, tiny mother of pearl buttons and diamond eyelet embroidery.
And my homage to Coco continues with chunky freshwater pearl jewellery.

It is testament to a brand when it appeals universally to women. Below are my six closest blogging friends each wearing a Winser outfit. Each has a very different sense of style and personality and yet every one of us was spoiled for choice when it came to selecting something.
We met at the Blognix Retreat in February of this year, (with the exception of Catherine, whom I met when we worked together on a modelling campaign two years ago). We bonded immediately and now not a day goes by when we aren't in touch. In equal measures, we discuss things related to blogging and things as unrelated to blogging as you can possibly imagine. We're an international group of seven older bloggers, each with her unique style, her own story and her own strengths. Together, we form The Over 40 Collective, O40Co. Our aim is to work with brands that target our demographic and to open communication between those brands and consumers so that we can raise the profile of stylish, affordable fashion targeting our age-group.
