Outfit Post: Boden Sequin Tunic Dress& Glitter for Christmas with the Girls

It has been traditional now for quite a few years to have a girls' Christmas Night In. In previous years, I have hosted it as has my great friend Sally and last night Annemarie took the reigns.

We've been friends for around seven years having met at the primary school gate. Now most of our children have moved on to secondary school, so it was with greater excitement than ever that we looked forward to this evening.

But this year Annemarie and I decided to make it a Christmas Party with a difference. You may remember my blog post about Sally and John's wedding in August. After twenty years and three children together, they decided to tie the knot. In keeping with the reverse (from conventional) order, we felt it only right that Sally should have a Hen Party.

We decided this several months ago and we have been ridiculously giddy about it since.

Here I am with the wedding cake I baked, (pre-party, pre-hairdresser), in Annemarie's gorgeous kitchen. I decided it was safer to assemble it in situ than to risk transporting it in the car.

And later at the hairdressers...

Never knowingly under-sparkly, I opted to wear new sequinned tunic dress and glitter accessories.

Annemarie's son made a fine wine waiter...

After supper we dressed our surprised Hen...

...and began a competition to see which team could make the best wedding dress out of loo paper. As the only unmarried girl there, I was deemed the one perhaps most likely to need a wedding dress so went head to head with Sally in the challenge.
